Locking Wall Gun Rack
9-Gun Rifle and Shotgun Rack

This lockable wall gun rack holds up to 9 rifles (with or without scopes) and shotguns in or out of sleeve covers (dust protectors). It is ideal for home closets to organize and lock up those loosely stored guns.   It mounts to two wall-framing studs based on 14 to 24 inch centers (adjustable) with two wood screws, approximately 12 inches above the floor.

A minimum wall space of 29-1/2 inches is needed for a single rack.  For locking up a large number rifles and shotguns, it can be mounted side by side approximately 4 inches apart.  If wall framing studs are not available, a proper mounting base would be needed such as a solid wall or by attaching a 2" x 4" board to the wall for continuous mounting.

This standing rifle rack can also be mounted inside a display cabinet (see photos below) to deter gun theft while on display.  The display cabinet would require a minimum interior width of 32 inches to mount one 9 gun- rifle rack and a minimum depth of 12 inches for the locking bar to swing outward to remove the guns.  More width would be needed to mount more gun racks.

This lockable rifle rack will hold up to 3 rifles and has the same features as the 9-gun rifle rack shown above.  It mounts to a single wall framing stud approximately 13 inches above the floor.  Only 12 inches of wall space (width) is required for mounting. This is enough space for the locking bar to swing outward to retrieve all firearms.  If no wall stud is available at the desired mounting place, a 2" x 4" board can be securely attached horizontal to the wall for mounting.  For mounting two of these racks in a display cabinet, a minimum width of 24 inches and a depth of 12 inches are needed.

These rifle racks are made of steel and coated with a plastisol (rubber/plastic) coating to protect all guns. Their narrow profile allows them to be mounted, preferably in closets ( behind hanging clothes, out of view ) for secure gun rack storage.  They will lock up most all types of rifles and shotguns including some military rifles that have equal length stocks.  The butts of the rifle and shotguns rest on the floor or can be mounted on a sturdy shelf above the floor if desired.

The locking bar slides through the two holes (one on each side of the frame) and locks in the smallest section of the stock (handgrip area) with a padlock (not furnished) for secure gun storage. The firearms are locked in place in narrow stalls preventing them from being pulled out.  To retrieve them, the locking bar can be pulled completely out of the two holes or in narrow places with limited wall space, it can be pulled out of one hole enough for it to swing outward.  The "L" shaped curve at one end of the locking bar allows the bar to swing outward.

The barrel rest attaches to the lower section's mounting screws and to the wall with support bars (single bar for the 3 gun-rifle rack).  The barrel rest also separates each rifle's barrel in individual stalls to protect them from marring.

Once installed, the barrel rest stands away from the wall approximately 3 inches to also accommodate most military type rifles that have taller sights at the end of the barrel (as well as standard hunting rifles and shotguns).  There are two round screw head guards included that can be tapped over the screw heads to keep the racks from unauthorized removal once the firearms are locked inside.  It can also be mounted above the floor on a sturdy shelf if necessary.  Trigger locks can also be used when firearms are locked up for extra safety if desired.
